A partnership between VMS Ltd and workwear and safety provider, BACA Workwear & Safety, is helping land-based students at Moulton College work safely during practical training, with the donation of 150 high-visibility vests.
The donation marks over a decade of collaboration between the two companies, both of whom are committed to fostering safety standards within the sector.
The vests will be used by students carrying out hands-on training on site and working near machinery, enabling them to remain clearly visible where safety and awareness are critical.
Head of business support at VMS Kev Garfield organised the donation with Patrick Spooner at BACA Workwear & Safety to help create a safer learning environment while land-based students at the college develop the practical skills required for careers in the industry.
Having recently been announced as the college’s first ambassador, Kev said: “We are delighted to be able to continue our support to Moulton College and its students with this donation.
“Safety is at the heart of everything we do and providing high-visibility vests is a simple but meaningful way to help students stay safe while they learn and gain valuable hands-on experience.”
Patrick Spooner, head of operations at BACA, commented: “Moulton College is integral to the area and do a lot of good for the community. They are also literally just down the road from us, so we really wanted to support them by printing and providing the high visibility vests.
“We have worked alongside Kev and VMS for over ten years now so it’s great to partner up to support Moulton College students.”
Speaking of the donation, head of land-based and equine at Moulton College, Polly Greco said: “I am incredibly grateful to VMS and BACA for providing high‑vis for our land-based students.
“Safety in land-based and agriculture is something I am passionate about, and with our students entering some of the most high‑risk industries, we have a responsibility to embed safe working practices from day one.
“Thank you VMS and BACA for helping us champion such an important cause, a meaningful difference in helping us equip the next generation with the skills and mindset needed to work safely.”
