VMS Ltd has announced a partnership with Northampton Saints Foundation, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the local community and building the next generation of workers.
The partnership kicks off with VMS serving as a sleeve sponsor for The Foundation’s biggest charity fundraising event of the year, Foundation Day, on Saturday 21st March.
During the match against Newcastle Red Bulls at Cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, the Saints squad will wear special edition kits featuring the VMS logo.
In addition to the match-day sponsorship, VMS has also joined The Foundation’s Founder15 scheme, which helps change lives and create positive futures for young people and their communities via their employability programmes and theory of change ‘Journey to work’.
The three-year charity partnership involves VMS supporting The Foundation in delivering a real difference to young lives, using the ethos of Northampton Saints and the power of rugby to inspire, support and educate.
Through its education, social inclusion and employability programmes, along with its specialist services, the scheme helps people build confidence, develop essential life skills, and access new opportunities in education, training, or employment.
VMS will contribute to the scheme with work experience placements, mentorship and workshops, alongside providing real-world insight in helping learners understand what is expected in the workplace, focusing on key areas such as resilience and professional boundaries.
Speaking of the partnership with The Foundation, managing director at VMS Ltd, Rob Mallett said: “We are incredibly proud to support The Foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the year.
“However, we didn’t want our support to stop there. That’s why we have joined the Founder15 scheme. Being a part of the employability journey will allow us to make a real difference by supporting young people in the community to learn key skills essential for the workplace”.
Craig Phillips, head of employability and skills at Northampton Saints Foundation said: “As a Foundation and through the employability and skills pillar, we are excited to work with VMS to create employment pathways for individuals on our programmes.
“Together as a partnership, the pathways will give tailored and a diverse range of opportunities which will help tackle the figures of NEET – Not in Education, Employment and Training – across the county with the inclusion of skills development.”
Kick-off on Saturday 21st March is at 3pm. As part of the charity day, those attending the match can expect games in the supporter village, with non-playing players available in the village for photos and signing of items in exchange for a donation. Fans can also ask bar staff to add ‘one for the Foundation’ where £1 will be added to their bill and donated to the Foundation. Face painting, an auction and raffle will also be available.
