Here at VMS Ltd, we are seeing the positive effects of our structured recruitment and development process, which has seen 16 recruits onboarded in the last six months.
The growth of the team at VMS is in response to growing demand for skilled roles in vegetation management, landscaping and arboriculture.
The new hires include four apprentices, alongside operatives, arborists and contract manager, with all new starters receiving a wealth of relevant training alongside ongoing learning opportunities to develop their skills and grow their careers within the company.
Commenting on its recruitment process, VMS Ltd’s HR manager Michelle Glossip, said: “Our current recruitment focus is on finding and developing talent in specialist areas like arboriculture, which gives us the chance to upskill new hires and build a stronger, future-ready workforce.
“A welcoming and supportive place to work, VMS stands out for its supportive culture. New recruits can expect to receive training, guidance, and career growth opportunities to enable them to grow their skills and build a rewarding career with us. It’s important that they feel confident, welcomed and set up for success from day one.
“We also provide a generous holiday allowance. Currently set at 29 days, this will increase to 33 days from April 2026.”
Michelle herself is one of the newest members of the VMS team, having joined in December 2025 as its HR manager to lead on the recruitment of a variety of roles to help bridge the gap within the industry.
She brings a wealth of experience in human resources, having worked in a variety of roles including HR business partnering manager at Betway. Here she led strategic initiatives across multiple business areas while managing a team of HR business partners, providing leadership, coaching, and direction in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Michelle also worked closely with senior stakeholders to drive organisational performance, playing a key role in talent management, leadership development, workforce planning and employee engagement.
“I have a wealth of experience in aligning people strategy with business objectives while fostering a strong, inclusive company culture,” continues Michelle.
“VMS already stands out for its supportive culture, training and career growth opportunities and as a fast-paced and quickly growing organisation with depots across the country, we are always on the lookout for the right people to join the VMS team.
“Looking forward, my aim is to further grow on the fantastic culture to help ensure we gain and maintain a valuable workforce.”
